Hi! My name's Finn and I like to call myself a professional geek. I’ve always been a gamer, but over the years, I've seen my older consoles wear down and break. This has caused me to learn a lot about tearing down and cleaning consoles, replacing parts, and circuit board repair. I realized that I love restoring games just as much as I love playing them, and now I’m looking for more projects to work on!
Video game preservation is a fascinating and important topic to me. While other forms of media can be consumed on a number of different devices in a number of different ways (owning a physical copy, streaming, etc.), video games can only legally be played on their original hardware with a compatible controller. Because retro hardware is no longer being manufactured, when it breaks down over time or is thrown away, the hardware becomes more and more rare. This rarity drives up prices and makes retro gaming inaccessible to many people. I think video games are awesome, and I believe that everyone should be able to experience them without a high cost of entry.
Because of this, I want to refurbish broken and worn video game hardware. If you have a console or controller that you would like to send in for refurbishing, please fill out the contact form below.
Even if your old hardware is too damaged to be restored, it may be used to supply donor parts to other consoles in better condition! Instead of throwing your broken hardware away and having them go to a landfill, send it to me and I'll use the working components to bring new life to old systems.
